Attention Professionals – Career Day was a huge success!
Career Day returned and was held on Friday, October 3, 2008. Many professionals shared information about their careers.
Career Day is an event that provides Marylawn students an opportunity to explore career requirements by meeting with alumnae and supporters of the school representing many different occupations. A Career Day differs from a traditional Career Fair by offering information through small seminars, rather than by exhibits or booths.
Career Day began with a keynote speaker during a morning assembly. Students registered in advance, and on Career Day attended four different career seminars, each one lasting approximately 45 minutes. The seminar was divided into three 15 minute segments. The first two segments were set aside for each presenter with the last segment being a Question and Answer session.
This was a wonderful opportunity to visit the school and connect with friends and professional contacts while helping our students gain a clear understanding of their interests, which fields would suit them, and what career opportunities are available in many fields.
